On Wednesday, October 23, a team of University of Virginia (UVA) alumni from SZNS Solutions hit the Route 29 to return to their old stomping grounds for the UVA Fall Career Fair. This annual event provides students a chance to meet top employers, explore career paths, and get a head start on securing internships and full-time roles. For SZNS, the fair was an excellent opportunity to connect with talented students, share insights about our industry, and strengthen our commitment to giving back to the UVA community.
Bringing UVA Spirit to the Career Fair
Our team set up a booth, equipped with swag, brochures, and the energy of proud UVA alumni eager to share the SZNS story. Attending were the CEO - John Lee, CTO - Dan Truong, Sales Engineer - Andrew Levine, Engineering Lead - Peter Bahng, and Operations Lead - Jamie Kim. Representing a range of roles and expertise areas, the SZNS cohort was there not only to present the exciting work our team is doing but also to foster genuine conversations about the tech industry’s evolving landscape. Students could explore topics from our technology solutions to our unique company culture, learning about what it’s like to build innovative products with a dynamic and forward-thinking team.
A Special Connection: Events for Echols Scholars and Trigon Engineering Society Members
After a full day of networking at the fair, our team hosted two special events to connect more personally with a select group of students. We invited members of the Echols Scholars program and the Trigon engineering society for an exclusive chance to dive deeper into what life at SZNS Solutions looks like. These informal meetups allowed us to share our experiences and give students the opportunity to ask questions, learn about different career paths, and gain insights into what it means to work in a collaborative and impactful tech environment.
Why We Came Back
For the SZNS team, coming back to UVA isn’t just about recruiting top talent—it’s about paying it forward and fostering an ongoing relationship with a university that played a pivotal role in our own professional journeys. Seeing so many bright, driven, and ambitious students reminded us why we’re excited to build a future with the next generation of leaders. We’re excited to start an internship program in the summer of 2025 (after a successful pilot program last summer), which will include Engineering, Sales Engineering, and Sales & Marketing interns.
